Privacy Policy

Unilighter operates lighting control software and related cloud and website services. For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].

2.1 Account and plan data

When you register or sign in we collect your email address; a salted hash of your password; plan status and related entitlements; account creation and last-online times; and session tokens, which may include IP address and client user-agent, used to keep you signed in and to detect abuse.

2.2 Show files and related data

If you use cloud sync, we store project and fixture records associated with your account, including names, metadata, and the show data you save. You control what you put in those files.

2.3 Remote connections

If you use remote control, we temporarily process pairing information needed to set up the connection. This is for connection setup, not long-term show storage.

2.4 Optional AI data

If you use optional AI features, we process prompts and selected show-preparation data needed to respond. Server-side AI sessions are ephemeral. Conversation history shown in the app may be stored locally on your device unless we state otherwise.

2.5 Website and application analytics

The marketing site and Unilighter applications use a first-party Umami instance we host. That tracker may collect device and browser information, pages viewed, named interaction events, and, after you sign in to the app, an account identifier with plan status. Live control output and show-file contents are not sent as analytics. Local development builds do not send analytics.

2.6 Support communications

If you email us, we process the content of that correspondence and any files you send.

2.7 Product interest forms

You can express interest in planned products without providing contact information. If you ask us to contact you, the website opens a pre-filled message in your email application; your address is not included in analytics and reaches us only if you choose to send that message.

We use information to create and authenticate accounts; enforce plan limits; sync data across your devices; operate remote connections and optional add-ons; secure the Service and diagnose faults; understand product usage; and send service or beta messages related to features you requested.

We do not sell your personal information.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on contract (to provide the Service); legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service in ways that do not override your rights); consent, where we ask for it; and legal obligation.

We share information only as needed to run the Service:

• Infrastructure providers that host the website, applications, API, and databases;
• Our Umami analytics host for marketing-site and application usage;
• AI providers, when you use optional AI features;
• Payment processors, when paid billing is enabled; and
• Authorities or successor operators if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, financing, or transfer of the Service.

Other Unilighter users cannot access your cloud projects unless you use a sharing or remote-control feature that you initiate.

The Service may store show files, preferences, and session credentials on your device.

Live lighting control is designed to stay on your device. Control output to hardware you authorize is generated locally. We do not collect a continuous feed of your control output as a telemetry product. Audio analysis, where offered, is processed on your device and is not uploaded as a live audio stream.

Device permission prompts are controlled by your operating system or client. Granting them does not by itself send that device stream to Unilighter servers.

The marketing site and applications load a first-party Umami script to measure usage. Browsers that send a Do Not Track signal are not tracked.

Applications may also store session and project data locally. Clearing that data will sign you out and may delete local show files that were not synced or exported.

AI is optional and, where offered, is limited to show preparation. It is not authorized to perform live control or hardware output. To serve a request, selected preparation data and your prompt may be processed by a third-party provider. Do not include secrets, personal data about other people, or confidential client information in prompts unless you accept that sharing.

We do not use your show files to train a public Unilighter marketing model. Third-party providers may have their own retention and training policies; we configure providers to operate the assistant, not to make your shows public.

• Account data is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for security, billing, or legal records.
• Cloud projects and fixtures are kept until you delete them or the account is deleted, subject to backups and downgrade rules.
• Session tokens remain until you log out, they expire, or we revoke them.
• Remote-connection data is short-lived and discarded after pairing or expiry.
• AI sessions on the server are ephemeral and time-limited.
• Application analytics is retained on our Umami host for product usage and support.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To make a request, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We may need to verify your identity. You can also log out, delete local data on your devices, and delete individual cloud projects where that function is available.

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the Service, including hashed passwords, token-based authentication, and access controls on cloud records. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure. You should use a unique password, protect devices used as a lighting desk, and export backups of critical show files.

Unilighter may process information in countries other than your own, including where our hosts or AI providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection rules. We take steps we consider reasonable to protect information in line with this Policy.

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will delete the account.

We may update this Policy as the product, vendors, or laws change. The revised Policy will be posted at unilighter.cc/privacy.html with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be noted on the website or in the Service.
