# Site Planner — Venue Plans & 3D Layout

Site Planner is a separate planning workspace with its own venue, fixture types, placements and saved plans. Its Plan and 3D views share that plan. **It is independent of the console visualizer scene** and does not automatically synchronize with patched console fixtures.

## Build a plan

Open Site Planner from the project selection page and create or open a plan. Define the venue dimensions and height, then draw zones, stage blocks or trusses. Plan coordinates and dimensions are in metres. Add fixture types and place instances using the active type.

A horizontal truss has fixed section thickness and adjustable endpoints; an upright truss forms a tower. The inspector sets hang height or upright height. Right-angle joints and endpoint editing help lay out a clean structure. Select a truss to place an array using Count with Evenly or Spacing.

## Mount and edit fixtures

Placement can snap to a truss, wall or floor, or remain free. Inspect fixtures to edit their properties and mounting. In 3D, fixtures can be positioned on trusses and rotated individually or as a selection around all three axes. Mounted fixtures stay outside the mounting face.

Select the venue to edit its size, height, grid, slices and variations. Fixture variations control which arrangements are included. Deleting a fixture type also removes its placements after confirmation. Double-click an object or use its context-menu Edit action to open its inspector.

## Navigate

| Action | Control |
| --- | --- |
| Pan the plan | Wheel, middle mouse, Space+drag, or touch drag |
| Zoom | Ctrl+wheel or pinch |
| Switch view | Plan / 3D header toggle |
| Cycle sheets | `[` and `]` |
| Fly in 3D | WASD with Q/E; hold middle mouse or Space to look |

The touch interface offers walking controls. Draft quality hides detailed models and beams for a simpler view.

## Save and use the plan

Ctrl+S or Cmd+S saves the plan, including local plans, and confirms any pending numeric entry in the inspector before saving. You can also confirm a typed number with Enter or by leaving the field. Up and Down apply each step immediately; Escape cancels the numeric draft while keeping the inspector open. Use plan sheets, slices and variations to organize layout alternatives. This planning data is not a live DMX patch and does not control fixtures; program your show separately in the console and its [2D/3D Visualizer](https://unilighter.cc/info/for-ai/docs/visualizer.md).
